Hi-ya! We didn't realise how long it has been since we emailed you guys. Since moving to Palmerston North we've been so busy. Not that's it taken long to settle - everyone's made that easy - it's that people here have lots of fun things to do! Young or old, there are so many choices of indoor and outdoor activities. The facilities are great and the whole place is alive with events. Even better, they don't cost a packet. No wonder the city attracts so many visitors!
I'm sure part of the attraction is that people feel safe here - day or night. Everyone looks out for each other. It's great not to worry about the kids getting to and from school or playing in the park.
And you really do want to get out there. Palmerston North is attractive, clean and green. We can take our pick of parks and green spaces, all with an abundance of trees. We regularly get outdoors to enjoy a fresh air fix! It keeps us fit and healthy and the dogs love it too.
Hey, great news! We've both found fantastic jobs. Businesses grow here and people have lots of job opportunities. It's such an exciting work environment - lots of bright, talented people and innovative creative businesses. It helps having leading edge industries and research institutions based in the city.
Certainly people have lots of learning opportunities. The schools are great and the higher learning institutions world class. You can see it by the number of people with formal qualifications. Not that it's all about formal studies. People of all ages are spoilt for all kinds of learning opportunities.
We are going to enrol in a few courses ourselves. We find we've got more time these days because it's so easy to move around Palmerston North - whether you're travelling by car, foot, wheelchair, cycle or bus. Jealous? You should be! We can even pop home for lunch.
The rest of the city's physical infrastructure is reliable too. We have no worries of phone, power, water or sewerage services breaking down, now or in 20 years. Palmerston North's a truly future-proofed city.
Have we convinced you to move yet? You'd really enjoy the people here. The community is supportive and people and organisations work together. It's great to see people of all ages and cultures coming alongside each other to celebrate the great things and fix things that need improving.
And we know you'd love the lifestyle. Finding the home of your dreams - at a price you can afford - is a breeze. People are well housed and healthy. Even if you do get ill, there's all the quality healthcare facilities here you could ever want.
Living in Palmerston North really is the good life. We love it - and you would too!
